SPARC - Stored Particles Atomic physics Research Collaboration - has been formed within the foreseen facility project FAIR - Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research - at GSI, Darmstadt - Germany. The aim of this collaboration is to join expertise on atomic physics with highly charged ions at an international level. The main scientific motivation will be to address a broad variety of atomic physics experiments "From Fundamental physics to Applications - Quantum Electrodynamics, Strong Fields, Ion - Matter Interactions"
The 3rd SPARC meeting will be dedicated to "Novel Research Opportunities for Atomic Physics with Heavy Ions: Facilities and Instrumentation "
• discuss the physics and goals of selected SPARC projects
• focus on novel instrumentations
• inform about the current developments and the status of various SPARC working groups
• inform about the present status of future heavy ion and storage ring facilities world wide
• look over the financial resources and funding issues of SPARC
The Workshop will take place at the Campus Boucicaut of the Pierre and Marie Curie University located Paris downtown :
140 rue de Lourmel – 75015 PARIS – France
The attendance will be free of charge. Lunches will be provided for 8€ each at the Campus Boucicaut. Please, register on line here
